The evening before the course, I enjoy a gentle supper on the terrace of the apartment I’ll stay in for the week. The serenity is everywhere – even among the pigeons roosting nearby.
The course is Portrait Photography. I meet eight lovely people and learn a great deal from them just by listening and looking at their photos. The instructor, Caroline Chevalier, makes learning fun. The learning curve for my French is massive. It’s become very rusty and definitely rooted in the 80’s!
Most of the day is spent studying portraits by others. There’s little time to take any photos myself except a couple on the way to school (!) in the morning.
